JAWM BEE Program

What: Junior Achievement of Western MA’s Business & Entrepreneurial Exploration (BEE) focuses on positive youth development with both short and long term goals. The program combines our most popular activities while using STEAM—science, technology, engineering, art, and math—programs to ensure students have fun while learning; it strives to help students develop knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to become productive citizens and workers, in a fun way! Students will engage with community members through field trips, guest speakers, job shadows, mock interviews, pitching, etc…

Who: Students entering 6th grade – entering 12th grade

When: Monday, July 8, 2019 – Friday, August 2, 2019. Program hours are 9:00am-3:30pm with extended hours offered 7:30am-9:00am and 3:30pm-5:00pm if needed.

Where: UMASS Springfield Center, 1500 Main St, Springfield, MA 01103


      • Cost – $210 weekly (includes breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack)
        • Payment may be made by cash, check, or card in person or by mail at the JA Office, 1500 Main Street, PO Box 15167, Springfield, MA 01115
        • Discount for Springfield Public School students – please call  (413) 747-7670
        • Discount for siblings – please reference on both applications upon submittal
      • Registration Deadline: Monday, June 24, 2019
      • Registration Deposit: $20 due with application
        • $20 refunded if attend 75%-100% of program (15 out of 20 days)
        • $10 refunded if attend less than 50% of program (10 or less days out of 20)
        • $0 refunded if do not attend for entirety of program (after written confirmation of acceptance) with no notification to JA
      • Student may attend min. 1 week or max 4 weeks. It is encouraged that students attend all 4 weeks. Please state dates student may be absent on application or weeks student will be attending.
